AIR INJECTED OXIDATION – NO CHEMICALS
The manganese greensand media bed is exposed to oxygen from outside air injected into the unit during regeneration activating the oxidizing capacity of the greensand. Iron, manganese and sulfides are oxidized into precipitates without the use of chemicals.
Iron, manganese and sulfide precipitates are filtered and removed from the water by backflushing and regeneration of the media bed.
